Deep experience in energy-efficient construction and process improvement
Dale Dennis
Co Founder / Systems & Building Performance
Dale brings nearly two decades of experience in residential construction and building performance, along with a background in aerospace, energy, and systems engineering. After graduating from Purdue University’s School of Technology, he started his career at GE Aerospace as an assembly and test technician, working directly on large commercial jet engines used on widebody aircraft including Air Force One. He moved into roles in process engineering, training, and product support, where he worked with airlines around the world on maintenance, borescope inspection, and overhaul practices. In 2001, he became a Six Sigma Black Belt, leading process improvement efforts with customers in Europe and building a strong foundation in quality and continuous improvement. From 2002 to 2006, he worked at GE Energy (now Vernova), where he led efforts focused on turbine reliability across gas pipelines and power plants.
In 2006, Dale left GE to start a home performance contracting business, where he gained hands-on experience in construction, energy performance, and residential building systems—including ENERGY STAR-certified new homes, insulation, air sealing, HVAC, and solar thermal installations. He later worked with utilities such as Duke Energy and Vectren and was certified as a HERS Rater and BPI Building Scientist. He returned to GE Aerospace in 2013, working in product support and systems engineering before advancing to lead the commercial flight safety function for a business powering a significant portion of the world’s commercial flights. In this role, he also led the development of predictive reliability and safety analytics programs, leveraging data to proactively identify risks and improve operational performance. In 2024, he shifted his focus full-time to housing.
Today, Dale applies what he learned in aerospace and energy—where reliability and failure have real consequences—to building homes that are more durable, efficient, and repeatable, with a lower total cost of ownership.
Buffie Dennis
Co-Founder / Design & Financials
Buffie brings more than three decades of experience grounded in precision, accountability, and long-term performance—qualities essential to building homes that last. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Thomas More University and began her career at Procter & Gamble in product testing and evaluation before completing her pharmacy degree at the University of Cincinnati.
She spent the majority of her pharmacy career at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, where she compounded medications—including chemotherapy treatments—while also verifying orders, identifying potential drug interactions, and collaborating with medical teams during patient rounds. Her work demanded exceptional accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail—standards she carries into every aspect of home construction.
Since 2006, Buffie has also served as CFO and co-owner of a home performance contracting company, where she has overseen financial management, operations, and project coordination. Her experience ensures projects are delivered efficiently, with strong cost control and a focus on long-term value for homeowners. She also brings a practical approach to home and kitchen design, creating functional, livable spaces that balance comfort, usability, and budget.
Today, Buffie focuses on aligning design, cost, and performance to deliver high-quality homes that are both attainable and built to endure.
